NINETEEN

1974
Friends/Family:
Pam, Bill

Pam and I would go to Myrtle Beach almost every weekend. We would load up the car with food and beer and head out on a Friday right after work. Often, we would camp on the beach. I guess there were not laws back then about that. It was great. We would pitch a tent close to a picnic table where we set up our little habachi so we could make our dinner that night. It was usually burnt hotdogs and chips. And of course we would drink beer and drink beer and drink beer. We would eventually pass out and wake up to the ocean in the morning. The ocean would be our cleansing routine as well since we did not have the cash to rent a hotel room. Then we would lay on the beach all day, tired from the night before. And come night fall, we'd go to sleep and get up and do it all over again. Good times.

One weekend we met some gentlemen from Iran. They were very nice and they spent the day and evening with us. They were indeed gentlemen so we felt very safe with them. We played Frisbee on the beach and swam and had a great time. We never saw them again after that weekend.
In the fall of 1973, I met Bill. We went to a new years eve party to ring in 1974 as Bonnie and Clyde. We had toy machine guns and were the hit of the party. I had on a tight pin-striped suit with a slit up the side of the leg. I had on fish net hose and high heels. We both wore hats like Beatty and Dunaway in he movie. I remember my drink of choice at the time was Tom Collins. That particular evening I did not do so well on the aftermath of Mr. Collins.

In history, this happened: 1974
